A new take on an old idiom....
Came across this book the other day titled "Always a bridesmaid, never a bride". Besides the point that it was an MB and therefore, really corny(!), it got a chain of thought going, which ended up with an autobiographical type of idiom:
"Always a girl pal, never a girlfriend!"
"Always a girl pal, never a girlfriend!"
