Speechless...
Saw Nishabd... it left me all nishabd! No, no, the movie has no claim to leave you speechless in any positive way (except for maybe the cinematography); the movie is unreal! Not that the basic storyline itself is so - an older man falling in love with a younger woman is not that difficult to imagine. The way 'love' happens in the movie leaves me thinking that RGV has completely lost his mind.
This girl who insists on parading around half-naked, showing leg, leg, and then some more, is rude as hell, and completely unmindful of the ways of the house in which she is staying as a guest, uses every opportunity to throw herself on her friend's dad and to basically, feel him up.
He, initially, does not give her the time of the day, but she deliberately does things to attract his attention...feigning complete innocence. She creates all of these situations that make him run after her (literally), and notice her.
.... and then ask"DO you love my spirit?" To which, more out of politeness i think, he is forced to say yes! (What spirit, one might ask!)
Some more skin-flaunting and attention-seeking techniques later, and suddenly she asks him "Do you love me?!" To which (surprise, surprise!!), the answer is yes!
I wasn't quite sure what the 'daddy' fell in love with... he says that it was more than physical; but, the part where the 'relationship' could have acquired that depth was not there, all you had was a slightly psychotic girl and a man who was very uncomfortable with the questions she asked!
I noticed the trailers of the movie had the tag line "Some relationships are never meant to be understood"
My version: "Some movies are never meant to be understood!"
P.S.: One may ask why I even went to watch this movie... Believe it or not, my mom was the one who (godknowswhy?!!) was really keen on seeing this!! I was only the means through which she went to see it!
